Details

Worbla's Pearly Art is a remarkable sister product to Worbla’s Black Art. It boasts the smoothest finish among Worbla products, a pristine white color that simplifies marking designs, and a powerful adhesive for effortless piece joining. Ideal for projects demanding minimal priming for a sleek finish, fine sculptural details, and frosted light effects. This product does not qualify for free shipping, and additional shipping fees might apply. Worbla’s Pearly Art is non-toxic and skin-safe, allowing you to shape it by hand without special safety gear. It can take on complex curves without a vacuform and is self-adhesive when activated, eliminating the need for glue. You can use hot air, water, or steam to mold the plastic as you wish. There's zero waste as scraps can be conditioned and fully re-blended. These leftovers can be molded like putty, and many artists prefer it over clay to create almost indestructible pieces. Pearly Art activates between 80 - 90 °C / 175 - 195 °F. When heated, it's often compared to clay, fruit leather, or beeswax, becoming pliable and detail - receptive, and hardening when cool. It can be layered, shaped over foam, foil, wire, or similar armatures, and can also be used as a single layer. Like many Worbla products, it can be painted with various paints, waxes, or finishes. Its fine and smooth texture means you can choose to paint it unprimed or prime it with products like Flexbond, Gesso, or PVA glue.

Using Worbla's Pearly Art is a breeze. First, heat it using hot air, water, or steam. Once it reaches the activation temperature between 80 - 90 °C / 175 - 195 °F, it becomes as pliable as clay or fruit leather. You can then shape it by hand, creating complex curves without a vacuform. When you want to join pieces, there's no need for glue as it's self - adhesive when activated. You can build it up in layers or use it as a single layer over forms like foam, foil, or wire. After shaping, let it cool down and it will harden into a stable form. Remember, this product doesn't qualify for free shipping, so there might be extra shipping fees. Also, since it's non - toxic and skin - safe, you don't need special safety gear, but still handle it with care when it's hot. For maintenance, keep your Pearly Art in a cool, dry place. If you have any scraps, don't throw them away! You can condition and re - blend them 100%. When it comes to painting, you can use just about any paint, wax, or finish. You can choose to leave it unprimed or prime it with products like Flexbond, Gesso, or PVA glue for better results.
