Ben Nye Grime FX Quick liquids are water - based and super easy to use. They're great for simulating dirt, and can effectively add distress to skin, costumes, prosthetics, and hair, giving incredibly realistic details that really bring a character to life. There are different types: dirt for dark brown mud, grease for simulating grease and motor oil, and grit for dark soil and debris. You can apply these liquids in many ways, such as with an airbrush, sponge, stipple brush, or splatter brush. To apply, put a few drops on a Hydra Sponge or sea sponge and smear on skin or prosthetics. Using a baby wipe can create an irregular, mottled texture and extend drying time. When using an airbrush, add our Mixing Liquid to reduce color opacity, and mix in Final Seal to make the color last longer. Removing these liquids is a breeze: use Hydra Cleanse or warm soapy water on the skin. For the airbrush, flush with clear water followed by isopropyl alcohol.
