This ultra - low viscosity silicone fluid is a great additive for liquid PlatSil® and TinSil® silicone rubbers. It can effectively thin the rubber mixture, though you'll notice a bit of a reduction in strength, hardness, and cure speed. It's important not to add more than 10% of this fluid, as it might seep out of the cured rubber. For instance, adding 10% of this 50 cSt Silicone Fluid to TinSil® 80 - 30 will lower the Shore Hardness from Shore A30 to Shore A20 - A25. Safety Data Sheet available as product literature.

To use this Polytek Poly - Sil 50 cSt Silicone Fluid, start by adding it sparingly to your liquid PlatSil® or TinSil® silicone rubber. The main goal is to thin the mixture, but remember that the more you add, the more you'll lose in terms of strength, hardness, and cure speed. Never add more than 10% of the fluid. For example, if you're using TinSil® 80 - 30, a 10% addition will change the hardness as described. As for storage, keep it in a cool and dry place. If you notice any seepage from the cured rubber, it means you've added too much fluid.
